Tips: Cortisone Treatments Rationed

“Back Pain can’t be treated with cortisone” says National Health Service!

Recently there was a treatment rationing decision in Britain. The National Health Service (NHS) says doctors can’t give cortisone treatments for non-specific back pain any more. Even though it works temporarily in some cases.

NHS says therapeutic injections of steroids like cortisone, used to reduce inflammation, won’t be offered to patients who suffer from persistent lower back pain, especially where the cause isn’t known. They have been told to refer patients to alternative therapies such as acupuncture and osteopathy.

Over use of Cortisone causes long-term damage too…

Onet of the drawbacks of constant cortisone use is the softening of bones and surrounding connective tissue over time. This means that although the pain may be reduced or eliminated for a little while, the root cause of the problem has not been fixed and you can cause other, more long term damage to your back.

More and more medical treatment options are taken from consumers every day. Look especially at what the Democrats are trying to do in the USA with the introduction of a universal health care option.
Unless you are wealthy, in the very near future, most, if not all of your treatment options, will be dictated by a government, a committee or insurance companies. I don’t want to leave my health in the hands of faceless bureaucrats, do you?

It seems to me that most of the chronic problems, which occur in our bodies, come from wear and tear, without a full repair process taking place. This can involve lack of proper nutrients and sufficient rest.

We know that unregulated inflammation is a root cause of many long-term health problems. Diabetes Type II, heart problems, and a host of other chronic ailments, can be directly attributed to two things – lack of exercise and poor diet.

Wouldn’t it be great if your back pain could be alleviated or completely eliminated by something as simple as close attention to what you eat, instead of dangerous steroids? After all, it would become a permanent and tasty solution to the problem.

Are olive oil and Ibuprofin similar inflammation fighters?

As stated, cortisone is used mainly to reduce inflammation, as is Ibuprofin.

Recent studies have shown that similar chemical compounds exist in Ibuprofen and Olive Oil. What this means it is that Olive Oil can be used to reduce inflammation, which is the cause of lower back pain in many cases.

This is just one of the many dietary treatment strategies which combined with others, can go a long way towards the relief or complete obliteration of your back pain without resorting to medical intervention.

In light of the tightening or elimination of standard and often dangerous medical treatments for chronic back pain it might be time for you to investigate other options.

After all you don’t want to just treat the symptoms of back pain, you want to eliminate the cause entirely, so that you can live a normal healthy life for as long as possible. The additional benefit is that you are in charge of your health options, not some faceless bureaucrat. More about Click Here!
