Puppy Training Biting – Biting Should Never Be Tolerated.

One of the habits of a puppy that needs to be broken with puppy training biting is the biting or chewing on a person’s hands, arms, ankles or whatever protrudes from his or her body.

If your puppy happens to be still doing this even at eight weeks or older, chances are that someone, most probably it was you, once felt it was rather cute. Now it most probably hurts, but later it will definitely become absolutely dangerous.

When doing puppy training biting you should never ever allow any biting to take place. Never, not even once again should you let the puppy bite or chew on you. At the very first nibble, utter a loud and emphatic “No!” The puppy should recoil and stop the biting. Make sure to keep the hand or whatever part of the body the puppy was chewing on still, because if you move it or flail around the puppy will think you are playing a game with it.

If the biting still goes on and is not corrected by the loud “NO!” take the puppy’s lower jaw in your hand and give it a slight shake as you saying “NO BITE!” at the same time Be very slow and deliberate about this whole process. Make sure you have the puppy’s full attention and make eye contact. Keep your voice clam and your motions slow. and you will be able to get results from your puppy training biting.
